April 5th, 2011I have finished a new WordPress website. Check it out at http://owatonnabikeclub.com/. For this project, I used the Atahualpa theme, which is highly customizable. I have had a pleasant experience with it so far, but a note of caution: make sure backup your settings when you update the theme. I didn’t, and ended up losing the header image, background image, along with some other things.
While you’re at it, check out the other sites in my Portfolio, some made with WordPress, others from scratch.
Thickbox vs Lightbox2
February 10th, 2010Well, now that I just got done installing Lightbox2 on one of my websites, I have discovered Thickbox. I’m not sure which one I like better, but I do have a small problem when Lightbox loads: the loading gif is not centered on every single picture that pops up. We’ll see if I get up the courage to switch it up today.
Installing Piwik
February 10th, 2010Delving into the world of web-design again after a time away for a bit, I now have found a new web traffic analyzer called Piwik. From the looks of it, it appears to be a very powerful tool that has two distinct advantages: it is open-source and it works with WordPress. Over the next few days, I will install Piwik on several of my websites to see how it works. I’m hoping for the best.

February 9th, 2010I love doing web-design. I just found a cool new tool that can be used in both WordPress sites and other sites that I have hard-coded: Lightbox 2. Quite a cool little project that implements exactly what I am looking for: an image / gallery on top of the current page. I actually found it by accident, I was looking at another website that used it and just stumbled upon the code. Quite cool!
Facebook and Twitter Installation
February 9th, 2010I’m trying out a new WordPress plugin called Status Updater. This plugin updates a Facebook Status and Twitter Account with a link to this post. This can be a very useful tool, especially when promoting your website or service throughout the internet. We’ll see how well this works. Wish me luck.
