Thickbox vs Lightbox2

February 10th, 2010

Well, now that I just got done installing Lightbox2 on one of my websites, I have discovered Thickbox.  I’m not sure which one I like better, but I do have a small problem when Lightbox loads: the loading gif is not centered on every single picture that pops up.  We’ll see if I get up the courage to switch it up today.

Installing Piwik

February 10th, 2010

Delving into the world of web-design again after a time away for a bit, I now have found a new web traffic analyzer called Piwik. From the looks of it, it appears to be a very powerful tool that has two distinct advantages: it is open-source and it works with WordPress. Over the next few days, I will install Piwik on several of my websites to see how it works. I’m hoping for the best.

WOW!

I love doing web-design.  I just found a cool new tool that can be used in both WordPress sites and other sites that I have hard-coded:  Lightbox 2.  Quite a cool little project that implements exactly what I am looking for: an image / gallery on top of the current page.  I actually found it by accident, I was looking at another website that used it and just stumbled upon the code.  Quite cool!

Facebook and Twitter Installation

February 9th, 2010

I’m trying out a new WordPress plugin called Status Updater.  This plugin updates a Facebook Status and Twitter Account with a link to this post.  This can be a very useful tool, especially when promoting your website or service throughout the internet.  We’ll see how well this works.  Wish me luck.
